Grading will be a combination of mastery grading and traditional grading. Traditional grading will be used for the overall scores for assignments and participation. Mastery grading will be used to score state standards and will be in the mastery section of Schoology.
For example: A math state standard is 6.RP.A.1 Ratios (Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities). If a student answered 3 out of 4 questions correct from this standard on an assessment, the student would receive a 3 (75%) in the gradebook. The next time this standard is assessed, the new grade will be added to the gradebook.
The Common Core Grade 6 Standards for math can be found here.
