Class Description

Welcome to 6th Grade Math! This course builds foundational skills in mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application. Students will explore math concepts through hands-on learning, discussions, and collaborative activities.

Aligned with **Common Core State Standards for Grade 6 Math,** students will study:

• Ratios & Proportional Relationships
• The Number System
• Expressions & Equations
• Geometry
• Statistics & Probability

We use interactive notebooks daily to organize foldables, visual aids, reference materials, and notes. These remain in the classroom.

This course emphasizes consistent effort, participation, and independent thinking.

Academic Grading

Scale

• A: 90%–100%
• B: 80%–89%
• C: 70%–79%
• D: 60%–69%
• F: < 60%

Weights

• Assessments: 45%
• Class Work: 45%
• Participation: 5%
• iReady: 5%

Academic grades carry through the entire semester and reset at the start of the second semester.

They do not reset every 5 weeks like Work Habits and Cooperation grades.

All communication should be professional and conducted via email when not in person.
